A WORLD OF CONTEXT

ABOUT THIS MAP.

The video library

This atlas includes the 114 public uploads visible on Horizon Geopolitics’ main YouTube channel when the catalogue was checked on 11 October 2026: 8 videos and 106 Shorts. That matched YouTube’s displayed upload count. Private, unlisted, deleted and future uploads are outside this snapshot.

The list is ordered by publication date. New uploads need to be added to the catalogue; this page does not claim to update automatically.

Where a story belongs

Markers show the places a video discusses, rather than where it was filmed. Locations were assigned from titles and descriptions. Country markers use Natural Earth label positions; named straits, canals and regional stories use approximate topic locations. A video may appear under more than one place.

World roundups and broad explainers are kept in the library under “Global topics”. Marker counts describe matching videos; they are not measurements of geopolitical risk or importance. Search and filters provide another way to find every video.

The map beneath the stories

The charcoal map combines Natural Earth I land-cover and shaded relief with Natural Earth Ocean Bottom relief. Country outlines also come from Natural Earth. It is a generalised cartographic map, with boundaries used as geographic context.

Natural Earth is public-domain map data. Learn about Natural Earth. The source and processing record is retained with this page’s files.

Watching and privacy

Browsing the map and its locally saved preview images does not load a YouTube player. Choosing a video first opens its details. Choosing “Allow YouTube & play” gives consent for this player and loads a YouTube privacy-enhanced embed from youtube-nocookie.com, connecting your browser to YouTube. Google/YouTube receives your IP address and device information, and may use cookies or similar storage under its own policies, including processing outside your country. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean no data is processed. You can choose “Keep YouTube blocked” and still browse the map.

“Stop YouTube / withdraw consent” or closing the player removes the embed and stops further player requests. This cannot undo data already sent or remove Google’s existing cookies. Opening another video requires a new choice. If a video is unavailable for embedding, you can use the direct YouTube link. The map adds no sign-in, analytics or viewing-history database. Your browser and the website host still make and receive ordinary web requests.
